Sayville Rotary continues its commitment to protecting the Great South Bay through its oyster restoration project at the Sayville Yacht Club. Throughout the summer, Rotarians and volunteers work together to clean, count and care for young oysters as they grow. In the fall, with support from Cornell Cooperative Extension, the mature oysters are transferred to the Great South Bay, where they help naturally filter and improve the health of our local waters. Now in its fourth year, the project is a great example of community members working together to make a lasting environmental impact.
