Veteran of the Month - August 28 - John Burke

John Burke was the Rotary Veteran of the Month at our August 28 luncheon. CPL John Burke began active service in March 1940 and he continued through to October 1944. He was assigned to the 782^nd Field Artillery Battalion (Company B).  Stationed in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater, CPL Burke participated in the Alaskan Campaign and received the Asiatic-Pacific Ribbon, the American Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the Army of Occupation Medal, the World War II Victory Medal and one Battle Star.  John Burke is a retired Air Conditioning Repairman.
